Trujillo Tours: Tourism is an economic activity worldwide has taken unprecedented relevance in recent years, so much so, that in some countries their economies are based predominantly on tourism.
Peru has not been immune to this trend and that is why it has now given greater importance; and the economic importance of this activity is increasingly significant in the gross domestic product of our country.
La Libertad region, the second economy of Peru after Lima has also given more importance to this economic activity, and therefore, it was necessary to have a Regional Strategic Plan agreed and aligned to the National Strategic Plan, while willing to improve. And that’s what we’ve worked on this past two years. Now that we have, we share a common vision clarity that allows us to position nationally and internationally as a competitive, sustainable and inclusive tourist destination.
Within this shared vision, we have two big challenges; one is to complete the Moche Route and the other is to create a high Andean route that allows us to integrate our extraordinary region by tourists; and contribute to sustainable growth and economic development of their people.
To do this, we need to maintain and strengthen our teamwork between the public sector and the private sector, involving more actors and authorities committed to these goals and who share our vision, necessarily relying on scientific methods and appropriate tools to prioritize goals and actions to take.
No doubt, for the vast majority of institutions interviewed tourism sector resources and attractive motivators trip to the region are the Huaca del Sol y La Luna, Chan Chan, El Brujo and the National Marinera Contest.
The National Marinera Contest is the event with the greatest impact on domestic tourism. Other events or dates that attract tourists are Easter, Independence Day, and the International Spring Festival. October also generates an increase in tourism since it is the month where most events, conferences, both educational and cultural seminars. Shows Peruvian Paso Horse complement the offer to have a defined space and regularly scheduled presentation.
On the other hand, is considered one Huanchaco city accommodation, it is an alternative tourism for their living culture associated with totora horse fishing, cuisine and water sports like surfing. The historic center of Trujillo is an interesting cultural attraction that is always visited, claiming users hours for the churches, museums, mansions, among other, more widespread. Another attraction of recreation and enjoyment of food and crafts is the path of the Moche to the Temples.
Existing tour packages are based on anchors resources: Huaca del Sol y La Luna, Chan Chan, Huanchaco, Huaca Dragon, El Brujo, the city tour and museums. In addition, exhibitions of Peruvian Paso horse and as alternative circuits offer: gourmet, painting, opera singing and seafaring. As inter-packet Trujillo / Chiclayo serves as a complementary circuit (Ruta Moche) and Tourist Circuit Norotiental (CTN) including Cajamarca.
Cycling, sunboard beaches: also other services according to the requirement of tourists, especially young people looking for adventure are provided. Note that these places are offered little due to the low quality of services and infrastructure in the area, especially in liberteña highlands, where there is not much easier to access and overnight. Usually, as foreigners, are three types of tourists visiting La Libertad:
As indicated by the travel agencies, foreign tourists looking generally Huaca de la Luna and Chan Chan; Warlock and sold by association. Is achieved not conclude the sale to Cajamarca and Chachapoyas by distance and the limited time available to the tourist. In high season, the perception of agents arrivals indicates 60% foreign and 40% domestic, approximately. However, hoteliers always flows indicate a preponderance of the national economy. For January, the sailor, the percentage changed to 70% domestic and 30% foreign, as appreciation of registered agents and employability.
Travel agencies and tour operators serve approximately 30 people for tours per day in high season and long weekend. The costs fluctuate dramatically from 30 to 100 soles per person full day, not including the entrance to each attraction. In this area, it must be emphasized informality of some travel agents have started to introduce the “pullers” type, who offer the same services for 20 soles, without warranty of any kind, while generating a sense of annoyance and insecurity tourists who walk through the historic center of Trujillo (around the Plaza de Armas). Usually domestic tourists looking further into the jungle tours, northern beaches and Chiclayo.
The corporate economy moves along the year tourism in the region, offsetting the low level of inbound tourism, primarily consuming accommodation and food services. The tours for the domestic market are promoted with artwork (banners, flyers) website pages; and for the international market in workshops, fairs and internet. Meanwhile, Promperú used as a means emails, web, social media and brochures. The last massive campaign has been promoting is The North Pone, promotion strategy to northern cities for the domestic market and young Peruvians.
In relation to the strategy being developed PROMPERÚ abroad “strategy has shifted from supply push to demand pull … We have to sell before that, the concept …
Our approach is not to go to the tourist level A, but the more informed. But of course, this is also having a good economy, because Peru is not a cheap destination or nearest …
With this, the objective aims to cover the natural diversity of the country. Redeemable ventures like Mistura Gastronomic Festival, which aims to position ourselves as tasty destination, are also helping the desired positioning …
Gastronomic Paradise, with ceviche, and juane olluquito, each with its history and evolution, Magical Andes -misticismo: Since 2009 eight segmented tourist mobilizers, according to age, country of origin and destination, exposing Peru as established differentiated according ecological- floor Unexplored Amazon, Ancient Civilizations, Extreme Experiences -passing of the Inca Trail to boating in Lunahuaná-, Mysterious Nazca Lines-the Desert, but the script except the extraterrestrials, Celebration of Life, with carnivals in February or October, and purple crowds Exotic Beaches. It is important to note PROMPERU strategy, while not only prepares products for many, but packs them in a sales proposal based on the concept (like images and sensations that occur in the economy).
